..."Jeannette Wright grew up with dogs. She says
the first word she spoke besides "Mom" was "bup," for
puppy. Things haven't changed: She's the author of Men Are Dogs,which
compares the character traits of men to 42 dog breeds. (She says her
husband is
a Borzoi.)
Wright works with her husband in his chiropractor's office in Plano,
Texas, and takes her 11-year-old Norwegian elkhound, Shaka, to the office
every
day. "Most people love that she's there," Wright says. "We
have a lot of children who come in and they're a bit anxious, but once
they pat her, they relax." But Wright also knows not everyone is crazy
about the idea. "And that's why she stays behind the desk."
